Thalia of Hendrake
Character Quiz
1) What is your character's sexual orientation?
The mind is the strongest sexual organ and all creatures have minds. But I prefer the minds of men. Singly or in groups.
1B) Under what conditions would the character make an exception?
Balancing a group is important. Those members who are female or otherwise should never be neglected. And of course, one does one's duty as it is decreed.
1C) What other options are there to your character's sexuality?
Making love is an art ...
a performance art. Watching others perform, performing yourself.
To see and be seen. Carrying knowledge -- secrets -- away with you.
Feeling the eyes of others upon you ... A high artform, indeed.
As with any performance
art, setting is so important. The kiss of the wind on bare skin,
the feel of water between one's legs, the scent of candles, the fluttering
of black lace.
2) What is your character's orientation in dominance and submission?
I am no toy to be trussed or trifled with. Neither will I force another -- unless it is their expressed wish.
2B) Under what conditions would the character make an exception?
In the almost inconceivable
circumstance that a partner or partners were actually trustworthy.
A laughable notion and one not likely to occur. And of course, if
so ordered. One must do one's duty to House and Family.
3) What will your character NOT do?
The man who strikes me will
himself be struck down.
Also, to maim, scar or deface
is anathema. There is no reason for it. It is wasteful beyond
tolerance and dangerously foolhardy. If a person needs to be maimed,
then they just as well need be destroyed. To leave a thing broken
or defiled but still alive. No. Never.
As for objects ... the body
is flesh and made for flesh. Such explorations are childish and best
left to children.
3B) What will you, as a player, not deal with?
[Leslie] I am going to have
a problem with real rape. No problem with little make believe games
or BDSM situations. But non-consensual rapes are probably going to
infuriate me out of my ability to role-play. <shrug> You asked,
I answered.
4) Describe one of your character's unfulfilled fantasies.
To make love 'on the wing' beneath a starry sky.
4B) Why is it unfulfilled?
Flying is beyond my
reach as yet. And there is no one I trust enough to share this with.
5) List up to ten quirks your character has.
a) Black roses -- the
color, the scent, the thorns. Lovely creatures.
b) The feel of moving
air is divine. Small zephyrs to howling gales.
c) Clothing that flutters.
Shawls, scarves, long cloaks, especially lace.
d) The language of
love is woven of gasps, moans and sighs, not of crude words.
e) Some personal firearms
are alluring beyond all reason.
f) One is always responsible
for one's acts -- especially in the art of love.
g) Surprise often
generates laughter.
6) Describe your character's first sexual encounter.
Not suitable for public site.
Furnished on request.
7) Describe your character's ideal mate(s).
Mate? I am not a creature
of permanency. I can not imagine spending all of time with the same
person or persons. Those limits are unthinkable. Perhaps a
reoccurring celebration with the same person ... perhaps. A few years
or decades here and there But nothing forever. Nothing continuous.
The person or persons with
whom I might engage in such a relationship? Honest, full of the joy
of living, unhampered by fear, laughing ...
8) What are your character's greatest turn-offs and turn-ons?
I am excited by the
new. Things I had not thought of ... possibilities. It is a
wide infinity of which I have only experienced a small portion, as yet.
Subtlety is the key to my
heart. I have no use for blatant or crude approaches. And I
am disgusted by helplessness -- whether feigned or real.
9) What experience has your PC most regretted/appreciated?
Regrets ... It was
a shadow of steel and thunder. Great wheeled vehicles carrying weapons
and death. And a ... race, for want of a better word.
A childhood friend, myself
and a few other scions of Chaos were engaged in a what should have been
a friendly contest. But there is no challenge if lives are not on
the line.
On the fifth lap, my friend's
vehicle was driven into a barricade and disabled. I slowed to see
if he needed assistance. But he waved me on, assuring me that he
was able to care for himself.
As I passed on the sixth
lap, his vehicle exploded -- with him astride it. I stopped my own
killing machine and rushed to his aid. But I could not save him.
I lost the race as well.
Appreciations ... My Family
and House. My masters, my teachers, those who have made what I am
today. My Aunt. All of them have my gratitude and appreciation.
But a single experience?
My adopted father was to
be leaving the House ... He was but a handful of decades older than
my own 160 years. And we were never close, as my raising had been
given to others.
But one night, as a parting
gift, he took me to a place of his. A shadow special to himself alone.
Starry skies, a windswept promontory ... My father. He was a friend
that I didn't know I had. And then he was gone.
It is a moment that I carry
in my heart forever. We were alive, and together in that moment...
that is a thing I appreciate.
10) What makes this character interesting enough to play?
[Leslie] *All* characters are interesting to play. :) But I think what makes Thalia special is the potential for high drama. She's a woman of passions, beliefs, visions and abilities. She's also a character with an immense ability to care. Who wouldn't enjoy playing that? :)
10B) What kinds of influences went into this character?
[Leslie] Thalia is
based on Hong Kong historical action films, such as The Bride with White
Hair, Vols. I & II, Saviour of the Soul and others, the names of which
escape me. Films by such directors as John Woo & Ronny Yu.
