Robin knows she has two brothers, Daeon and Jovian. She has met Jovian
and has heard of Daeon. (She's also heard about Dione, who's now dead,
but that's not apropos to this question.) She knows that Daeon is not
aware of her existence. How does this information color her views of
her brothers?
Robin
has always felt
a little threatened by her brothers' existence. She knows that
she's the youngest *and* a girl. And she's worried that in the
patriarchal world her father lives in, that's significant.
When Robin's calm, she also knows that it's she who is at Julian's
side, learning and loving Arden, not her brothers. She knows,
even if it stings, that Julian doesn't acknowledge her openly because
of the very real danger from his rat bastard siblings. And she
knows that she is the best thing for both Julian and Arden.
But still, it kind of irks her that both of Julian's *sons* are out in
the open. Maybe it's because they're *far* away that he can
acknowledge them. While since she's right here in the hot-bed,
she has to stay hidden. Okay, that's reasonable, but it still
annoys her.
Jovian she's met -- and he knows that she exists, so the pecking
order seems to have been established there. But
Daeon... Robin's trying to figure out if Julian just doesn't trust him
with the secret of her existence. *Or* if Daeon's being groomed
for heir to Arden.
When she's calm, Robin doesn't think anyone's going to come between her
and her father/Arden. But then, how often is Robin calm?
