Vere - Son of Gerard
(casting - Jeffrey Hunter)
Robin's cousin, Vere,
is possibly the grandest cliff the girl has ever
thrown
herself off of.
When Robin first
came to Amber, in her grey times, Vere's distance and
coolness
led the Ranger to think that, perhaps, he didn't like girls. So
she
resolved to keep her distance from Gerard's bookish and far too clever
son.
But Robin feels that you can tell a lot about a person by whom
they
call friend. And so, when a chance meeting in Danu brought her
into
contact with Siege, Vere's best friend, she returned to Amber with eyes
open
and heart listening to the sound of her bookish and oh so clever cousin.
The *symphony*
that she heard astounded her. Within the space of
two
conversations in as many days, Robin fell hopelessly and helplessly in
love
with Vere. She feels that Vere is her... match. Every
weakness
of hers is matched by a strength of his, every weakness of his matched
by
her strength. Together, they are whole; beautifully and
gloriously
whole.
Even when apart
from Vere, Robin finds herself constantly planning her
life
with Vere, thinking of his voice, remembing the sigh of the wind
through
his hair, his kisses... yep, she's falling. And at the same time,
flying.
As an additional
bonus, for the first time since being 'outed' as a
Royal
of Amber, Robin feels that, in Vere's company and with his love, she
just
*might* avoid being added to Amber's Mad, Bad and Dead list.
