Our heroes -- Toeval, Saphir, and Singh -- were in port, on the Wolverine,

waiting for Ekin to return from checking out his warehouse interests. Nero had departed with his men. While waiting, Singh brought Bataar out of the hold and took him for a walk -- he was not happy -- onto the deck and out into port/boardwalk area amongst the people. Toeval and Saphir watched around for sights and trouble.Suddenly, the birds and seagulls all seemed to withdraw and land away from the water. At that same time, animals in general started a mad dash away from the bay, fastly moving inland. On shore it was kind of a panic and Bataar himself was in a tizzy of fright. It took some serious effort by Singh to keep him calmly moving away from the water instead of running.
Saphir sensed something massive, cold and absorbingly overwhelming... Then, thunderously exploding out of the water came all the dragons. In a blitzkrieg of motion and furor they cruised into the air and began a circling motion. They were all in instinctive battle mode, violently stirred and distractedly on their guard, with undivertable focus on the emerging sensation in the depths. They all started to sing a great wail of warning and disturbance.
Shortly, Krieg and Shrek dove and without asking or words -- as it were --
picked up Toeval and Saphir off the boat, holding them in their talons/claws. Toeval and eventually Saphir made their way clumsily up to the backs of their companions. The boats in the harbor had veered off, even the strange aliens disappearing into hiding. Singh reached for the pattern and found it to be clouded and obscured. Saphir concentrated on the depths and found the entity to be massive ,and of Chaos!! As it moved(?) the waters receded and surged.
The Wolverine was knocked about fiercely and took some damage.
Saphir concentrated on getting all the people on the Wolverine to flee. Saphir
tried to get the attention of Shriek to no avail. Toeval eventually got through to
Klieg and flew over to Roman to begin a dialogue.
Scene 2: Ekin
Amber time: Current / Begma HarborEkin arrived at the warehouse and strode on in -- to strange glances from the crew there. Inside he went looking for the head guy, his partner. When he entered the office, he received a fake friendly nervous greeting -- ambush!
He began conversing and heard noise and commotion. Two Efreet
materialized and a lengthy conflict ensued. Ekin fled from one, got to the roof, used a power word to screw up one of the pursuers, went to the roof. One came up after him and Ekin jumped off the roof on top of the Everett -- pounding him on landing. Ekin had asked them who they served. They said "Bakashta." After the cushioned landing, Ekin fled. He headed back to the ship.
Scene 3: Ekin, Saphir, Singh and Toeval
Amber time: Current / The Wolverine - Begma HarborWhere he found all the commotion afoot. He ran to the Wolverine and started throwing his men back on ship, threatening deserters. Saphir managed to convince Shriek to veer down to the crow's nest lookout which Ekin had made a great bounding leap into. Saphir apprised him of the Chaotic sitch and said ship not safe, you should jump on. But Shriek was not in an inviting mood and veered back up.
Scene 4: Nero
Amber time: Current / Begma Harbor and points BeyondNero left the Wolverine and got in a boat at the Begma harbor. He shifted
shadow to some low tech dock town/world where they stopped for supplies. Everyone went ashore. Nero felt a presence in the mountains beyond. Considered this. And was suddenly under attack. His men felt ill. Nero discerned that they were being assailed by invisible assailants. They ran into a hut and blocked off the entrances. Nero concentrated on reinforcing the low tech nature of the shadow. This slowed the invisible assailants down. And made them visible enough that Nero and his men and the townspeople could help them take out -- invisible fly scorpion things.
Nero commanded the townspeople to help and they did as he commanded. He started to concentrate on the "hills presence." As soon as he focused his friendly inviting presence on the presence, that presence materialized, and said "Where is it you wish to go?"
Nero said "Chaos." Nero tried to pay, but it refused and said it was there to take him where he wanted to go. Nero knew this was a servant of Chaos. And off they went...
