Physical Description:
Flame-crowned and bearded, with deeply blue eyes.  Bleys is of moderate
height though he seems to fill any room he is in.  His build is athletic and trim.  His movements hold the grace of a martial artist or a dancer.  Everything about him sparkles with joie de vive.
Bleys' voice is mellow, but well modulated.  He can project that voice to fill a room with warmth or lower it to give an air of intimate privacy to any listener.

Mannerisms:    Bleys laughs often and heartily.  His laugh is infectious and only
occasionally malicious.  He is given to grand sweeping gestures and is rarely still.
When a person is with Bleys, they become well-aware that they are in the prescence of a trusted friend.  Bleys is full of humor, sympathy and support.  And it is hard to remember that he is just as big a lying, murderous back-stabber as any of his kin.

Attire:  Tailored to perfection -- for whatever the circumstance.  And comfortably and competently worn.  Bleys prefers clothing of extreme quality to that of ostentation.  However, he does enjoy the trappings of power -- mostly displayed in tasteful, but not understated, jewelry.
Bleys has an uncanny ability for a red-head, he wears reds and oranges that heighten his hair color instead of clashing.

Psychological Description:
Bleys is a passionate man.  He believes in living life to its fullest and letting nothing get in the way of that.  Because of that, he is somewhat easy for those who know how to manipulate.  He rarely carries grudges per se, but has definite likes and dislikes.

History:
Under Oberon, Bleys was Amber's Ambassador to the Golden Circle Kingdoms, a job he did well and enjoyed.  As Oberon's absence continued, Bleys became increasingly aware of the strain that absence was putting on Amber's allies.  So when his brother and sister approached him concerning rectifying the situation by placing himself on the throne -- it seemed like a good idea at the time.  After all, he was the first legitimate heir in line.  And he knew the job.
Then, Eric, Julian and Caine started their little plotting and Eric got the jump on them with that regency thing.  Bleys pulled strings with his Golden Circle allies to insure that he and Corwin's armies passed onto Amber mostly unmolested.  And likewise, those armies did not mostly molest the Golden Circle.
It was a good attempt.  And a heck of a fight up Kolvir.  But, one little slip and Bleys knew he was done.  And then, the most surprising thing.  That back-stabbing bastard Corwin saved his life.  Will wonders never cease?
Bleys used Corwin's deck -- during the fall! -- to Trump call Fiona who pulled him out of mid-air.  He then quickly shadow-walked to allies of his in Dargothia, knowing as he did that the Trump and Pattern shields of the Kingdom would hide him from most of his kin.
From there, he began building army number two.  Only to discover Amber, the Golden Circle and all of Shadow were soon being pressed by the prescence of the Black Road.  Since Bleys knew he wouldn't be welcome in Amber, he did what he could to fight the Black Road anonymously, having some moderate success in some of the Golden Circle and outlying areas.
After Eric's death, the call went out from Benedict for troops to march back down the Black Road.  Bleys cautiously and slowly entered into an agreement with Benedict that would allow him to fight for Amber's safety in return for a pardon.  By this time, Corwin was acting as regent of Amber and Bleys' part in the injuring of the Pattern and young Martin had come to light.  And both Benedict and Bleys felt that maybe it wasn't a good time to approach Corwin with the fact of Bleys' continued existence.
And so Bleys' forces from the Golden Circle, a force trained in the fighting of the Black Road horrors, marched alongside Amber's -- carrying the war back down to Chaos.  Along with Benedict and Julian, Bleys led his troops magnificently into a glorious victory of the forces of Chaos.
Once the field was taken -- what do you know -- the Unicorn picked that little skank Random to be King of Amber.  Oh, well.  No use arguing with mythic and mysterious forces.  Bleys was right there to swear fealty to the new King.  Besides, being King was probably more work than Bleys really wanted anyway.
As witness, that first job of turning the Shadow storm.  Bleys was more than happy to get his troops into the shelter of the Courts -- what a dreary and unpleasant place that was.
Once Random had turned the storm, Benedict made good on his word, and Bleys was officially pardoned.  Though the winds from his siblings was still pretty cold.  So Bleys decided to take an extended vacation in Shadow.
