GASH
The Great Ambercon Scavenger Hunt

The Great Ambercon Scavenger Hunt is an Amber Diceless Role-Playing Game
being run by myself, Leslie Lightfoot, at Ambercon NW 2005.
This site has been set-up for the use of players and potential players.
It contains more detailed information than is available in the Ambercon Gamebook.

Gamebook Description -

The Abyss demands Chocolate!

            And other stuff too.

Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to drop two children of the Blood of Amber into the Abyss.  Not to mention the Jewel of Judgement.

Now the Abyss is hungry for more.  The Courts of Chaos were swallowed whole a little over a month ago and the Abyss continues to grow, devouring whole Shadows.

Dworkin has sent in his best and brightest.  Burp!

Now it's your turn.

GASH is a semi-LARP RPG-Scavenger Hunt involving heavy prop use and played throughout the grounds of the McMenamins Edgefield in real time.

Setting -

G.A.S.H. is a Chronicles of Corwin cannon game set 1 year after the end of the Patternfall War.
Oberon, Dierdre and Brand are still very dead, but all of the other Elders have returned to Amber in more or less fine health.
Florimel and Bleys have established a tenuous detente with Chaos, but relations are still very tense with each side pretty much sticking to their end of the universe.  Knowledge of one another's ways is still fairly limited.
No adverse affects from the creation of Corwin's Pattern have been noted - as yet.  Though Fiona is very keen on the whole subject and often away from Amber on 'observational' junkets.
Corwin and Merlin are reportedly off exploring the Shadows generated by the creation of his Pattern and have not returned to Amber in the previous year.
Benedict retired from the war back to Avalon and seems as uninterested in Amber politics as ever.
King Random and Queen Vialle have their hands full dealing with the aftermath of the Patternfall War.  Crown Prince Martin, though, is continuing his career as a Shadow playboy, to everyone's relief.
Dworkin has made no reappearance since Oberon's funeral.  And no one seems to have missed him.
The other Princes and Princesses seem to be content to return to their pre-Patternfall roles.

Characters -

Players will have 100 points to construct their characters.

Characters will be the grandchildren of Oberon.  Amber parentage may be chosen by the players, though the GMs reserve the right to recast if necessary.  Players also may decide how much is known by the world in general and by the character themselves regarding their parent / heritage.

The GMs will not be considering Chaosians, Merlin Saga-based characters or children of Oberon or Dworkin for characters in this game.

Character Limits:
There are a few minor limits with regards to the regular ADRG rules for the purpose of this game.  All other rules remain the same as in Phage Press' Amber Diceless Role-Playing rules.  (Note:  No Shadow Knight supplemental rules will be considered for this game.)

        Powers:
            No Exalted Powers
            No Logrus
Shape Shifting – Cannot be Chaosian based

        Artifacts & Creatures:
            No Primal Abilities
            16 point limit

        Good Stuff / Bad Stuff:
            No more than 5 points

        Trump Decks –
Any PC who knows that they are a member of the Royal Family may own a Trump Deck.  PCs who are unaware of their Amber heritage should not own Trump Decks.
A further note, the GMs consider Trump Cards to be ‘nigh-invulnerable.’  Not indestructible.  In G.A.S.H, Trump Cards will be assumed to be very, very sturdy cards.  They can withstand long exposures to water and most vermin find them unappetizing.  However, Trump Cards do not make reliable shuriken or shields and should be kept away from open flames.
